The Annual FLS Cake Competition Brings Festive Cheer!

The results are in for the FLS annual winter cake sale competition!

Every year our wonderful Friends of Lyonsdown School (FLS) organise a winter cake sale competition. This year, with the right ‘recipe’ of COVID safe rules, the competition still took place – with some impressively delicious entries!

There were so many amazing cakes baked and decorated by our pupils – from large masterpieces, to cute cupcakes. There was also an array of iced biscuits, and even an edible winter-wonderland village! The standard of entry was so very high that Mrs Stanton-Tonner chose the best entry from every year group who will each be awarded with a commendation certificate and prize. Overall winners were also announced. Congratulations go to Delilah and Tabitha in the Upper school for making some very creative Christmas wreaths, and Isabelle & Emilia in the Lower School for creating some wonderfully decorated gingerbread biscuits. Certificates and prizes will be given out in assembly this week.

Families enjoyed being able to buy them at the end of the School day when they picked up their children.  Many thanks to the FLS for organising the competition, as well as our talented bakers and cake decorators – we hope you all enjoyed taking part, and then eating your wonderful creations!
