Girls are not only prepared to secure senior school places at some of London’s top independent and selective state schools but are also prepared to thrive once there. We support every girl to help them to find the right senior school that fits her particular aptitudes, interests and personality.
Our foundations for exam preparation begin early and by Year 4 onwards girls are taught English and Maths by subject specialists. Non Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning clubs are offered, whilst exam skills are also taught in class and extended through online practice tools for home.
Our Future Schools programme prepares girls to be ready for more than just entrance exams. Our broad curriculum and enriched education goes far beyond exam preparation. Our focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths), via an enhanced curriculum, specialist teachers and facilities, aims to inspire girls’ interests and talents in these important areas. We also establish skills for life. We develop our girls’ skills in communication and teamwork, the confidence to think for themselves and problem solve, as well as the ability to take responsibility for themselves and others. These skills are much in demand in the workplace and at many senior schools who are now diversifying from traditional entrance examinations.
Overall, in the last 5 years, Year 6 Lyonsdown girls have received: 36 Scholarships offers across 117 school place offers.
