We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as the leading support staff professional, working with the Co-Heads to ensure that the School delivers its strategy and meets its aims. This is a key role and the successful candidate will be joining Lyonsdown at an exciting time – as we become all-girls and launch our new strategic plan.
Our strategic plan includes a specific priority of ‘Developing efficiencies and effectiveness in the professional running of the School’ which will be a key aspect of the School Business Manager’s role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a small school, relishing the ‘hands-on’ nature our post offers – it will require ‘doing’ operationally as well as ‘thinking’ strategically and offers the opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact. The successful candidate will, as a member of the SLT, make a significant contribution to driving change and improvement as part of our journey to excellence in all aspects of the School – not only in our academic and pastoral provision for the girls but also in the levels of service we offer for our parents and, beyond that, in everything we do.
The SBM is responsible for providing professional leadership and management for all staff generally, as a member of the SLT, and specifically for the School’s support staff. Working in partnership with the Co-Heads and the Board, the SBM will have key responsibilities in the following areas:
- Leadership and Strategy
- Data and Systems
- Human Resources
- Health and Safety
- Premises and Site
- Admissions and Marketing
- Administration and Compliance
We are looking for someone who can bring a fresh Business Management perspective, whilst being sensitive to what has gone before, and who is committed to working in partnership with the Co-Heads and SLT colleagues, as well as with the Board, to drive Lyonsdown forward.

This is a full-time role, 52 weeks, with 28 days holiday entitlement where there can be some flexibility as to when it is taken. There will be school events and meetings that take place outside the usual working day/week, including some evenings and weekends, that the jobholder will need to attend as a member of the SLT.

Salary: £43k – £50k dependent on qualifications and experience, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate
